About Viafor

Viafor Ltd. is a production company with a global reach. Based in Helsinki, Finland we have more than a decade's experience in documentary production under challenging conditions. From the jungles of New Guinea to the glaciers of Svalbard, from West Africa to Estonia, Viafor has covered issues that matter.

Producer

Toni Sillanpää is a producer and director who has been with Viafor since the very beginning. Toni started out producing documentaries and specialized content for NGO's and advertising agencies. He has since broadened his scope to include e-learning solutions and computer games. He currently splits his time between Germany and Finland.

Toni was educated in the United Kingdom and he holds a BA in Anthropology and Communications Studies and a MSc in Global Politics, both from the University of London.

Crew spotlight

Fredrik Eriksson is a freelance cameraman based in Helsinki, Finland. Still or motion, Fred has documented Viafor's exploits around the world ever since we found him lounging in a beach chair in West Africa. During the years that followed, Fred has become an integral part of the team. And let's face it, once you have sacrificed a goat together, there is no going back.

Fred's portraits always succeed in capturing something special, something just beneath the surface. The photos speak of equality between the artist and the subject. There is nothing pretentious or labored about them. They document people as he finds them, without commendation or condemnation. If they had to be summed up with just one word, that word would surely be respect.
